Tina Chong

Hailed as “a paradigm of lyricism” by the Charleston Gazette, pianist Tina Chong has established herself as an up-and-coming young artist in North America.

After her orchestral debut at the age of nine, Ms. Chong has appeared as a guest soloist numerous times with orchestras throughout the United States, Canada and México. Highlights include performances with the Calgary Philharmonic, the Toronto North York Symphony, the Aspen Concert Orchestra and the Seneca Chamber Orchestra. Most recently, she was a soloist with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra performing Ravel’s G Major Concerto.

A frequent winner in North America, Ms. Chong recently captured first place in the Aspen Concerto Competition. She is also a laureate of the Seneca Chamber Orchestra Competition, Nena Wideman Competition, Jefferson Symphony Orchestra Competition, Canada Music Competitions, the Tuesday Musical Association Competition, the Kiwanis Music Festival and the Music Teachers National Association Competition. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Chong was awarded the prestigious Louis and Annette Kaufman Scholarship at Oberlin for excellence in chamber music.

A resident of Banff, AB, Ms. Chong received her Bachelor’s of Music at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music as a student of Angela Cheng. She is now an associate instructor at Indiana University – where she is pursuing her Master’s Degree under the guidance of Arnaldo Cohen.
