Pianist Elier Suárez is a graduate of the Juilliard School and winner of the American National Chopin Piano Competition. His orchestral appearances as soloist have included performances with the symphonies of Dallas, Miami, Pittsburgh, Rochester, and the Spoleto Festival in Charleston.

Besides the Spoleto Festival, he has been a guest artist at the music festivals of Ambler (Temple University), Aspen, and Chautauqua. Solo recitals throughout the United States have taken him to such major centers as Cincinnati, Ft. Worth, Houston, Las Vegas, Madison, Miami, Milwaukee, New York, Philadelphia, Rochester, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

His Washington début at the Phillips Collection was broadcast to 75 North American cities via Parkway Network. Internationally, his radio broadcasts have been heard through the “Voice of America”. In addition, he has represented the Organization of American States abroad and is a cultural specialist for the United States Information Agency’s "Arts America Program".

Through the “Arts America Program”, he was Artist-In-Residence at the Delhi School of Music in New Delhi, India in celebration of their Silver Jubilee. At the Eastman School of Music, he received the coveted “Performer’s Certificate” which led to a two-year appointment as a member of the piano faculty. He is Past President of the New York State Music Teachers Association, Inc., as well as, Past President of the Rochester Piano Teachers Guild, Inc.

As chamber musician, he has collaborated with the Composers String Quartet from Columbia University, and as duo-pianists with both his sister Eyda and Brian Preston. As clinician, he has presented workshops for the State Conventions of Florida, New York & Wisconsin Music Teachers Associations, and for the National Convention of the Music Teachers National Association. For the World Piano Pedagogy Conference, he has served as debater and is a member of the Independent Piano Teachers Committee. His students have won numerous international, national and regional awards including: Lang Lang International Music Foundation, From the Top, Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition, Thousand Islands International Piano Competition, Duquesne University’s Young Artist National Competition, MTNA Piano Competition, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Artist Auditions, Ithaca College Piano Competition, Nazareth College Piano Competition, David Hochstein Recital Competition, Walnut Hill Music Festival, Genesee Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra’s Biennial Concerto Competition, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra’s Concerto Competition, NYSMTA’s Empire Piano Competition, and NYSMTA’s Junior All-Stars Piano Competition among others. www.elier.com
